Harchelroad Motors of Imperial & Wauneta History

From hard work and dedication, Harvey Harchelroad opened the doors of Harchelroad Chevrolet Company as a 6-person shop dedicated to small town values with a very strong passion for excellent customer service. In 1952, Gene Harchelroad took over daily management duties of his father's Chevrolet and Massey Harris dealership in Wauneta, Nebraska. Gene then was honored as a 50-year GTM dealer in May of 2002. According to General Motors executive, Larry Hice, Gene is only the third dealer to receive this honor during Hice's 31-year career. After 50 years of successful time at helm, Gene Harchelroad passed daily management of Harchelroad Motors to his sons, Sid and Brian Harchelroad. Together, they run Harchelroad Motors as the largest GM Dealership in Southwestern Nebraska carrying Chevrolet, Buick and Callaway automobiles in addition to over 200 lines of Farm Equipment.

In 1991, Sid Harchelroad opened their Imperial Dealership accompanied by a full service body shop. Harchelroad Motors became a fourth generation dealership with the addition of Dillon, Sid Harchelroad's son, in 2009. The Harchelroad Family built and opened their new Collision and Restoration Center in 2013 and moved into their new State of the Art Dealership in Imperial in 2015.

Harvey Harchelroad had a vision that his small town store would offer a customer experience that would rival even the best and it is that vision that has guided Harchelroad Motors during the past 80 years. Today, the six person shop has grown to employ 54 people between two Full Service Chevrolet, Buick and Callaway Dealerships, a Collision and Restoration Center, along with a Performance Car and Agriculture Equipment Center. We are also happy to announce that in 2009, Harchelroad Motors was added to the Callaway list of Dealers as one of only 26 in the World.

Harchelroad Motors is celebrating 80 years of excellent service by always remembering the small town values and customer satisfaction goals it was built upon.

Our full service GM Dealership features sales of both new and used vehicles, farm machinery, two well stocked parts departments, and two highly recognized service departments which feature a GM Certified World Technician and several ASE Certified Technicians. Also to be recognized is the recently opened Harchelroad Motors Collision and Restoration Center, which features the PPG 2008 Master Painter of the Year.
